SPLINT consists of two modules that complement each other perfectly:
SPLINT Support Planning Here, teachers and educators create digital support plans:
Assess learning levels
Formulate support goals
Select and document measures
Organize collaboration within the team
SPLINT Feedback This module expands work with students:
Individual learning goals are set together
Students can self-assess their progress (via the student app SPLINTY)
Teachers provide feedback
All assessments are clearly displayed – a great basis for learning development discussions
Important: Both modules are fully integrated – students and colleagues only need to be created once. This allows flexible switching between support goals and feedback.
Yes, SPLINT Feedback is fully integrated into SPLINT Support Planning. This means:
Students and colleagues only need to be created once.
The student lists are identical for both modules.
In the student list, it is color-coded which students have support goals (Support Planning) and which have learning goals (Feedback).
On the student profile, you can flexibly switch between both modules.
Important: Support goals from SPLINT Support Planning are not automatically transferred to SPLINT Feedback or SPLINTY. If a support goal should be regularly reflected upon, you can transfer it to SPLINT Feedback as a learning goal in just a few steps.
SPLINT Feedback is the module for teachers, SPLINTY is the web application for students. The teacher creates learning goals in SPLINT Feedback, and students reflect on them in SPLINTY. Both assessments are clearly displayed in SPLINT Feedback – as a basis for learning development discussions.
Yes, that is possible.
As explained in the previous answer, the interaction between SPLINT Feedback and SPLINTY offers many advantages.
However, the teacher can decide whether SPLINTY should be activated and used by students. Even without SPLINTY, the teacher's own assessment of progress on the learning goal can be recorded in SPLINT Feedback. This one-sided reflection also supports learning development discussions and reduces preparation time.
SPLINT is a web application that runs in the browser. This means that no app needs to be installed to use SPLINT Feedback and SPLINTY.
They can be used on any internet-enabled device, such as computers, tablets, or smartphones.
Yes. SPLINTY is a web application that opens in the browser. This means an internet connection is absolutely necessary.
SPLINTY can be used on all internet-enabled devices.
SPLINTY is a browser-based web application, which means installation on a specific device is not necessary.
Students can use any internet-enabled device, including their own smartphone, a tablet, or a computer at home.
If students use a device that is accessed by multiple people, they should log out using the "Log out from shared device" option.
Yes, that's possible. SPLINTY is a browser-based web application and can be accessed from any internet-enabled device.
School computers or tablets are often used by different groups of students. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to data security.
In SPLINTY, students have different ways to log out. First, click the gear icon at the top right in SPLINT. At the bottom of the page, there are two logout options: the regular "Log out" and the secure "Log out from shared device".
On devices used by multiple people, the "Log out from shared device" option must be selected.
This option ensures that SPLINT on the respective device can only be accessed again after reactivation with the master code.
This protects the student's profile from misuse.
If a student accidentally selects the "Log out" option, the next student on the same device will be asked for the PIN. Instead of entering the PIN, the "Log out from shared device" option can also be selected afterwards.
Guide your students as needed to ensure secure logout.
In SPLINTY, students have two ways to log out: the regular "Log out" and the secure "Log out from shared device". Both options are accessible via the gear icon at the top right.
The "Log out from shared device" option ensures, for example when using public computers or school devices, that students' data is protected from access by others.
On devices accessed by multiple people, students should always log out using this option.
"Log out from shared device" means that the SPLINTY login data of the student is completely forgotten on the respective device. This also means that if the same child accesses it again, the app must be reactivated.
Activation is done via QR code or link and master code.
In SPLINT Feedback, access to the app is managed in the student profile (tab "SPLINT Feedback").
The students must scan the QR code displayed there or open the link. This opens a page where the master code is either already entered or still needs to be typed in.
The master code is also available in SPLINT Feedback and can be shared by the teacher if needed.
Afterwards, the student sets a personal 4-digit PIN.
It is recommended not to use number sequences (e.g. 1234) or identical numbers (e.g. 4444) as a PIN. Guide students as needed when choosing their PIN.
Students should keep their PIN secret and, if necessary, note it in a secure place, such as a password app on their smartphone.
After the PIN is set, students can start their self-reflection and see the agreed learning goals.
First, create a profile for your student in SPLINT. In the student profile, you can then create one or more learning goals. To do this, open the "SPLINT Feedback" tab.
As soon as SPLINTY is activated for a student, the learning goals created in SPLINT Feedback are visible there and ready for reflection.
We recommend always setting learning goals in individual exchange with each student and not pursuing more than three goals in parallel.
SPLINTY is used for reflecting on one's own learning progress towards a learning goal.
During this self-reflection, students enter the following data about themselves:
- Information about their emotional state (using smileys)
- Reason for the selected emotion (optional)
- Audio comment on feelings and/or learning progress (optional)
- Written comments on self-assessment
In addition, the teacher's assessment made in SPLINT Feedback contains information about the student's performance and development.
There is a link to the student profile in SPLINT. This is removed as soon as the "Log out from shared device" option is used to log out of the app.
Personal information such as name, date of birth, or grade level is not collected and therefore not stored on the device.
Currently, it is not possible to share support goals from SPLINT Support Planning directly in SPLINTY.
If you want to make a support goal available for self-reflection, you need to copy the goal statement and create a learning goal in SPLINT Feedback.
Yes, that's possible. In the student profile, you can manage the involvement of colleagues. Participation is regulated individually for each student.
To grant access to SPLINT Feedback, you must add your colleague as a "Responsible Person".
Please note that "Responsible Persons" not only have access to information in SPLINT Feedback, but also to all information in SPLINT Support Planning.
If necessary, download the confidentiality release form and fill it out before granting access.
There are two ways to (de)activate the token system: in the student profile or in your personal profile settings.
In the student profile (tab "SPLINT Feedback"), select the option "Token system settings". Make your selection and save it.
A change in the student profile only applies to the respective student. In your profile settings, you can enable or disable the system centrally.
Click on the round field with your initials at the top right to open your profile and navigate to the SPLINT Feedback settings. There you can (de)activate the token system for all students.
Tokens that have been collected but not redeemed are saved when deactivated and will reappear as soon as the system is reactivated.
Yes, that's possible!
Click on the round field with your initials at the top right to open your profile and navigate to the SPLINT Feedback settings. There you can edit the feedback symbols and choose from a list of various designs.
Note that the selected symbol is automatically used for all newly created goals until you choose another symbol.
Currently, it is not possible to upload your own feedback symbols for use.
If you have suggestions for improvement, feel free to write to us via the feedback function! To do so, click on the green question mark at the bottom right in SPLINT.
In this case, you can reactivate the SPLINTY app.
In the student profile (tab "SPLINT Feedback"), open the option "Manage student app" and have the QR code scanned or enter the link manually.
If the student is still asked for the PIN, select the option "Log out from shared device". This will reset access.
Scan the QR code again or enter the link once more. Now a new PIN can be set. Choose a secure number combination without sequences or repetitions.
The master code is an automatically generated access code in SPLINT Feedback. It is used to connect the student app SPLINTY with the teacher account.
The teacher opens the QR code in the student profile, in which the master code is already pre-filled.
Students scan this QR code and therefore do not need to remember a password.
When logging in for the first time, they only set a personal PIN.
This makes logging in to SPLINTY easy, secure, and privacy-compliant for students.
The token system is an educational tool within SPLINT that allows students to make their progress and achievements visible.
Teachers can award digital "tokens" for certain learning goals or tasks. These tokens work like small acknowledgments or rewards and make progress directly tangible. Students can see in SPLINTY which tokens they have collected – this increases motivation and self-efficacy.
Tip: The token system is especially suitable for positive reinforcement in lessons and for learning development discussions.
SPLINT Feedback is a module that allows you to give your students targeted, positive, and strength-oriented feedback – directly in everyday school life and without extra effort. The most important features: Individual feedback in class: Using customizable feedback symbols, you can easily document behavior, learning processes, and social skills.
Joint goal agreements: You can formulate goals for individual students and/or share support goals with your students and make their progress visible.
Involvement of students: They can participate themselves, reflect, and thus take responsibility for their learning.
Practical and intuitive: Quick to use, digitally documented, and focused on the essentials.
The new module helps you to link support and relationship-building even more closely – whether in support lessons, in class, or as a team. Would you like an introduction? You can register for the free webinar with Lukas here: www.inklusion-digital.de/splint-live-webinar-anmeldung
